Qualcomm Snapdragon

Snapdragon is the most widely used chipset in most of the mobile phones of the world. Samsung also uses this in all the mobiles of American and European markets and few mobiles of Asian markets. QSD8250 is the first chipset from the Qualcomm factory that got released in 2007.



Qualcomm is the American firm that supplies powerful Snapdragon chipset globally, almost in most smartphones. Though it is a bit costly on comparing with other chipsets, manufacturers buy it for its unbeatable performance. In CES 2013, Qualcomm introduced its Snapdragon 800 series first in flagship mobiles.

Till now, 800 series proving to be the most powerful one in the flagship segment than Exynos chipsets.

We have to note the fact that Exynos 990 performs better than Snapdragon 865 in terms of single-core CPU performance. But in terms of multi-core performance, power efficiency, graphics, and other tasks, Snapdragon 865 is the clear winner.

Though Samsung designed their Exynos 990 well, it is still beyond Snapdragon 865. This kind of performance lags happens to Exynos mid-range chipsets like Exynos 9611 and Exynos 9610 on competing with Snapdragon 720G and 730G.



If we look at the comparison of two mid-range chipsets Exynos 9611 (Samsung M31) and Snapdragon 730G (Moto One Fusion Plus) selling at same price range, the Snapdragon 730G performs ahead in terms of graphics, lagging, power and heat management. By considering all these factors, gamers prefer Snapdragon chipsets over Exynos chips.




Verdict

Samsung must consider its chipset's performance and must tune to boost its performance in terms of graphics, speed, and power efficiency. People might get disappointed with the fact that when a Snapdragon 865 (Oneplus 8 pro) chipset mobile, priced at INR 55,000 performs ahead in terms of GPU, CPU, power, and other aspects than Exynos 990 (Samsung S20 series) pricing starting from 70,500 INR.

People love Samsung smartphones for its unbeatable user experience and camera qualities. But due to a little performance lags, people might get disappointed with the Samsung mobiles.

If you are an intense gamer, we would recommend going with Snapdragon chipsets for better performance, graphics, and power consumption.

Samsung must consider its flaws very keenly to stand equally powerful in the mid-range and flagship crowd.
